Has anyone ever visited Aberdeen in Scotland and if so what did you think / enjoy? |
Travel Info i live in aberdeen and work at the airport ( at one of the car hire desks ) we get a lot of americans visiting , a lot on honeymoon believe it or not . Any other visitors or reasons for visiting Travel Tips I've visited Aberdeen, recently in December of 05. I enjoyed Aberdeen so much that I will be moving there in September to work on my Masters Degree. There's something about being so close to the Mountains and the Ocean that I enjoy both, having lived in New York and Florida. I like that it's a good size city, not to small but not too big like NYC or London. Everything is so close (Stores and the like) and the transportation system is really convenient and reliable. I can't wait to move there. Others We visited Aberdeen in the course of a cross-Scotland bicycle trip, and it was great! We loved being able to ramble around through all the places we came to. Walking tours are great fun. They're interesting, and a change from sitting in buses and just having things pointed out as you whiz by them. lived in Bucksburn area which isn't far from the airport for 14 months during 02-03...loved it..miss it now...husband born in Aberdeen and we decided to move back to the states...miss chippies and walks on the beach...don't miss the rain and cold weather...loved the fact that we could take a sunday drive and be in a completely different part of Scotland...*sigh* Me myself and I |
