What areas of Aberdeen are the best to live in?

Travel Info
I'm moving to Aberdeen in August, going to rent for a while untill i get my bearings. Where should i avoid and where is nice? Either in the city or in suburbs

Travel Tips
It al depends on how much money you are able to spend on rent. The west end is nice but very expensive. Try looking round the solicitors and see where you fancy. Are you willing to commute, it so try looking in the Ellon Area Source(s): http://www.aspc.co.uk/search/homesforlea...

Theres nice areas round about Ellon like I said or try down towards Portlethen areas, try contacting estates and farmers, as they quite often have cottages for rent.
Other Travel Tips
depends on your financial situation, I have friends who live in Kingswells - very nice
For 拢500 a month wont get you any of the good parts, for that kind of money you will be lucky to get a one bedroom flat in the city centre, to be honest it dont really matter where you live in Aberdeen there is always trouble in most parts, so okay here is a list of the parts to advoid and the nice places.

Avoid
Tillydrone (nasty place)
Woodside (some parts ok but its the mugging capital of Aberdeen)
Logie ( junkie paradise)
Northfield/cummings park ( not very nice)
Parts of old Aberdeen ( very dodgy many junkie about)
Torry ( can be ok if you keep yourself to yourself)
these are the worst but you get flats in most these place's for 拢500
Nice
Ferryhill
West End
Mannofield
Bridge of Don (some parts)
City centre (but weekends are very dodgy)

I aint said most parts but just a rough guide i'm from Aberdeen as long as you keep your self to yourself you should be safe its quite a nice place to stay but like most big citys it has its problems in most parts

hope this helps
none, its all Shite!!
Rosemount, City Centre, West End and Ferryhill are all good areas to live in.
for 拢500 you should be able to get a nice place, but you never can be sure who your neighbours will be,I live in a nice part of Rosemount and have junkies next door.
I agree that you should avoid Northfield,mastrick,tillydrone... woodside and logie
safest bet would be a fairly new development rather than terraced and it might be worth while going through an agent www.aspc.co.uk will give you an idea,Good Luck!
