I'm traveling to Aberdeen for study abroad. Any suggestions for keeping costs down? |
Travel Info I'm from the U.S. so I know I'm going to be paying a lot of money. I'd like to travel as many places as possible and I'm not really sure how much things cost in the U.K. or in Europe. Travel Tips travel by coach as much as possible, it may take longer than a train, but you will see more of what ever country you are traveling thru and it's far cheaper!! as for accomadation, try looking at the tourist guide web sites, most do feature names an addresses of b+b's (bed an breakfast) and costs Others Expect to pay twice as much for things here as you would at home e.g. clothes, electronics, cosmetics. If you don't believe me, compare prices on amazon.com with those on amazon.co.uk .Your coming to Aberdeen to study. Well welcome but you will find it very expensive to live in Aberdeen and if it your intention to travel to Europe your cheapest way is probably to buy a student railcard that allows you to travel across Europe as this will be the cheapest method. However, if you intent to use internal flights within the UK you will find these very expensive and so again a student railcard for travel within the UK is going to be your best option. Though coach travel is quite cheap but somewhat monotonous If I understand you correctly you are coming to Aberdeen to study so I guess you mean Aberdeen University...Good choice. If this is the case I would wait until you get here as you are bound to meet up with other liked minded people who will be travelling across Europe so wait until before you make any travel arrangments.
