Spent a couple of weeks in Mazatlan in an awesome hotel directly in front of the beach. Weather was ideal, great location and not too expensive. I traveled in the 70,s and 80,s with my parents in Mexico, it was so fun. My father bought a timeshare in Acapulco. I was a child and Acapulco was the hot spot in the World> Movie starS> party central, great beaches, golden sun, warm people, great seafood ( beware what you eat gringos). now it's a little overdeveloped, you might want to stay at punta diamante the newer area, save money at older Acapulco golden zone. souveniers in the old downtown area. Check out the Cliffdivers. Great clubs. Must check out THE PALLADIUM. dress to impress. I spent about 3 weeks last summer travelilng around Mexico and hit up the following: Central Mexico -- Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Puebla, and Taxco. We saw the pyramids north of Mexico City and climbed La Malinche (at about 14,800 feet) outside of Puebla. Actually, we started in the town of Canoa. Oaxaca -- checked out Oaxaca City and walked up to Monte Alban and ruins Chiapas -- Stayed in San Cristobal de las Casas and then joined a group on a jungle tour of the Lacandon rain forest. Saw ruins at Yaxchillan and Palenque. Stayed in eco lodges along river -- kayaked much of the way. It was a totally killer trip! |
