Has anyone ever stayed at the Torreblanca Condominiums in Acapulco, Mexico? |
Travel Info What is it like? How is the pool, does it have a private beach. I'm going for my honeymoon. Travel Tips It depends what you're looking for. Torreblanca is not in the heart of Acapulco but is located on the next bay over, on the hill overlooking the village of Puerto Marques, between the airport and Acapulco proper. There is a nice pool and a great view and a nice little restaurant. I believe most beaches in Mexico are public with very few exceptions. There are two areas to the beach ... one which is open beach and the other which fronts the main street in the village which is full of palapa restaurants. There is a taxi stand at Torreblanca where there are always taxis with friendly helpful drivers available to take you to Acapulco whenever you want to go. We go to Torreblanca often because it's quieter than Acapulco and if you want Acapulco action, it's available. The beach really fills up on Mexican holidays and long weekends but otherwise is more serene. There is a steady stream of vendors plying their wares on the beach which I find entertaining but some people find annoying. I find that if you just nicely say "No gracias", with a wave of the hand (and don't look overly long at their wares if you're not interested), they will not harrass you. They are just trying to earn a living for their families. The condos at Torreblanca are owned partly by private individuals from other cities in Mexico or North America and some time shares so there's a nice mix of people. We like it.
