Hello, thinking of moving to adelaide and could do with some advice on how to go about it with a kid of 3? |
Travel Info Me and my partner are thinking of moving out to adelaide with our son of 3. We are hoping to join some friends that are moving out there. I have been told by some other friends that adelaide is not the best place to move to. We could do with some advice on schooling and how it works, where is the best parts of adelaide for culture, schooling, down to earth pubs etc. wheres the best place to rent etc. I am a nurse and my partner is a site manager, how will he go about getting a job before we arrive. Is adelaide not the best place to go? If you could help us by answering any of the questions , cheers. Travel Tips I am not sure what type of site manager your partner is, but Adelaide has work for building site managers through to heavy industry site managers. There are lots of jobs for nurses if you can get registered in South Australia. The best part of Adelaide for culture and down to earth pubs depends on what you mean. Theatre, cinemas, yuppie pubs and night clubs etc stick to the city centre, down to earth pubs stick to the suburbs. All the major metro shopping centres have probably got cinemas too. Schools of various quality can be found virtually everywhere, with the more expensive ones tending to be in the city centre. There are good schools each side of the city centre, but the universities (for later on) are in the city and in the northern suburbs - Mawson Lakes and southern suburbs - Bedford Park. As for actually finding a job try www.seek.com.au or www.careerone.com.au Is Adelaide the best place to go, in my opinion yes, but Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney (in that order) are worth considering too! If you are prepared to go to smaller towns further away from expensive culture, you can find plenty of local culture and nurses will find jobs anywhere there is a hospital or nursing home. |
