Are Chiropractors safe for people with back pain, eg. buldging discs? |
Travel Info Are Chiropractors safe for people with back pain, eg. buldging discs? Travel Tips They are safe as long as they do not over do it. Some like to have you go there 3 times or more a week. I was told by a physical therapst that they can do exactly what the chiropractors do and more, such as message therapy, strengthening, etc and in the long run maybe even cheaper... Some chiropractors are not so good while other eh, do a so so job...... I went to a chiro. last year and I ended up in more pain then I complained and said I wasnt comming back to see him. They talked me into continuing and I eventually went to see a Physical therapist and quit the chiro. The physical therapy was much more beneficial to me and now I'm still trying to pay for my chiro bill.... I want to appeal the bill .....they suckered me in and promised me that it'd help... What a crock and my physical therapist did do some chiropractic things to my back but only like once every week if that!yes they are i no from expreince cause my mom goes to a chiropractor. Look at it this way, if your shoe rips, you go to the shoemaker. If your car konks out, you go to the auto garage. If your back is out, go to a chiropractor! This is what they specialize in!! There is alot of bad media lately for chiros out there, but truly it's safe. As long as you answer all your health history questions honestly, they should be able to form a treament plan for you. In the case of a bulging disc, you need an xray or mri or determine how bulging it is exactly. That will determine who you should see. You should get this info for sure before you decide to see a chiro, or physio or an orthopedic surgeon. To answer your Q more directly, yes it should be fine. Your chiro should be able to tell you honestly whether in your condition they can help you. When finding a chiro, look for someone who is not too aggresive and is interested in listening to what you have to say. Making you feel comfortable and feel in power of what's going on. It depends on the patient and the injury. A good chiropractor will do an initial interview and physical exam to determine the cause and extent of pain and injury. If (s)he is unable to confidentally provide assistance to the patient, they will inform the patient that their injury is not treatable by them. They will also suggest the best course of action, whether it be that the patient see their personal physician, or someone else. Before starting any treatment, a good chiro will have xrays done, a full medical history discussion and should explain the history and benefits behind chiropractic care. For 5 years i had been living with chronic lumbar pain, and doctors never did anything about it. I had an assessment at my gym back in February, and have been pain free since. I started off seeing my chiro 3 times a week, and am now down to 2. I will shortly be going down to 1 and then most likely once a fortnight and then once a month. I have found it has not only benefited my back, but also my whole wellness. I have not been sick since I started and with winter upon us, I would usually have been quite sick with flus etc already. Just make sure you get a reputable chiro, research it well, and if you arent happy then find someone else Personally go to one and am much better for it |
