Travel Tips
There are 3 pedals for controlling the car.
1st pedal on left is-Clutch pedal
This pedal is used for changing gears
2nd pedal in the middle is the break pedal
This pedal is used for breaking
3rd pedal on right is acccelerator pedal
This pedal is used for accelerating

In between front two seats of the car. Lies the gear
On top of the gear lies the gear head, which is used to moving the gear in different position. There are directions marked on top of the gear head to show how to move the gear

The basic gear direction of a car gear is a standard-H 1st, 2nd , 3rd , 4th and Reverse (R). Original Gear position is Neutral (N). Here is how to move the gear
From neutral, left (1-step) and front (1-step) >1st gear
From neutral, left (1-step) and back (1-step) > 2nd gear
From neutral, right (1-step and front (1-step) > 3rd gear
From neutral, right (1-step) and back (1-step) >4th gear
From neutral, right (2-steps) and back (1-step) >R-gear
Some cars are also having 5th and 6th gear nowadays whose direction is also marked on the gear head.

Once you are familiar with gear directions, put the gear back into neutral and start the car

one you start, press the clutch and keep it that way. Put the gear in 1st gear position to move car forward or reverse gear position to move the car backward. Now, slowly release clutch pedal and at the same, press the accelerator very gently to set the car in motion. (be very gentle while doing this do that the car does not jerk. but, even if it does jerk forward and comes to a halt, do not worry because starting of the car and setting it into motion is an important part and it takes time to get used to this ), Once you set the car in motion you can accelerate on 1st gear. As the speed increases, you can use the judgement to further accelerate till you reach the final gear (4th gear). Use your judgement on the car speed to determine which gear must be used,.
Normally (1st gear is used for speeds upto 20 km/hr)
2nd gear is used for speeds 20-40 km/hr
3rd gear is used for speeds 40-60 kms/hr
and 4th gear is used to all speeds above 50 km/hr
It will take time to get used to this but keep practising this on an empty road.

For decelerating of the car, you can come down from 4th gear to 1st gear position in this same manner.

For car breaking, if the car is in gear, press the clutch first and keep it pressed and then press the break pedal. If the car is not in gear (neutral position) , you can directly press the break pedal.

It will take time to get used to this but keep practising this on an empty road.

At any signal or temporary stop of car, you can keep the car on by putting the gear in Neutral position.

You can do the same thing while the car is in a traffic jam.

If the car is on a slope, use the hand-brake which is behind the gear head by lifting the lever and keeping it in elevated position. This is useful for parking car on a slope and also for driving car in a slow moving traffic while on the slope of a road

Dont accelerate too much while you are learning how to drive. Reduce use of 1st and 2nd gear to conserve fuel and engine life.
For good mileage, keep the car in motion between 50-80 kms/hr
Always break very gently to bring the car to a stop, unless and untill it is an emergency stop.
Always use left and right indicator lights to show traffic at the back of your car in which direction you are heading. In addtion to all this, use your hand for indications also.
Do not use highbeam headlights unless and until you are driving on a road which is dimly lit or not lit at night. Even otherwise, when another vehicles is coming from opposite direction, keep the headlight beam on low and let the vehicle pass.
If the opposite vehicle is on high beam, indicate this to that vehicle by moving the beam low and high rapidly.
Reduce use of horn, unless absolutely necessary.

While learning how to drive, have a valid learner's license and L sticker on front windsheild and back glass sheild of the car.
Also, there must be a person with valid driving license sitting besides you in the front of the car.

I think the above information is sufficient to set you up on learning how to drive. Observe all traffic rules and drive safely. Best drivers are the safest drivers. Good luck.
