Tell me about the Airbus?

We are travelling by airbus from Memphis to Amsterdam, I was wondering if you could tell me about the airbus. I have never been on one.

they are huge, technological, fast, &safe

they have about 34-48 inches of pitch in the smallest version,so that is a lot of leg room for you to stretch. Airbus seats fewer people in bigger planes for more accomodated space for passengers.

they have so many systems like fly by wire and a full glass cockpit, which makes the plane hard to fail

they are safer than boeing aircraft, they have alot fewer accidents,

the seats are wide, and comfy, the upholstery depends on the airline though

and most of all they are very quiet, you can even whisper to a fellow passenger!

If it is the new 380, it is absolutely huge. You will love it.

For your purposes, it's just another plane. Some find them better than Boeings... and yet strangely enough, some people like Boeings better.

(Without looking at the schedule, I'm guessing you're flying NW on an Airbus 330 or 340).

The "Airbus" is not a specific aircraft. Airbus is a company just like Boeing which produces many different sizes of aircraft. Just like Boeing has 737s, 747s, 777s, etc, Airbus has A320s, A330s, A340s, etc. For you the passenger you probably wont notice any dramatic differences then any other airplane youve been on, especially since I doubt your traveling on the A380 as far as I know its not really in service yet. The major differences are in the cockpit and the oporating procedures for the different systems. Some pilots love them, some hate them, all in all they are just as safe as the next plane.
