Why Flight are tend to fly from east to west? |
Travel Info Is it true that flights always intend to fly from east to west in most cases? Such as if some body want to fly from Auckland (New Zealand) or Sydney (Australia) to New York (USA) so it will be flying all the way from there to New York via flying over Asia, gulf, Europe; instead of flying direct to new York from east side. Please tell me in details; I am curious to know the reason actually. Thanks鈥? Travel Tips No that's not true. No one would fly from Aukland to Sydney by way of New York. Hey, airlines are dumb... but they aren't that dumb! Others no incorrect, they fly according to distance, going from Cali to NY The wont go around the world they go west to east over the US Usually unless the flight time is much shorter, commercial flights prefer to stay over land. Not only for refueling purposes, but in the event of a crash it's better to be over land. Most airlines will try to avoid extended flights primarily over water. flights don't actually do that. they fly back and forth regardless of direction, what if u anted to go north or south? u'd be SOL...although some flights may fly a specific route due to airspace they aren't allowed to fly in. or if they have to stop at another airport and u would have to transfer. but they do not only fly east to west, that would cost the airports way too much money and wouldn't be logical at all. That's cause the Earth spins the other way roumd. If somebody in Noth Florida could jump on the spot high enough, by the time he lands back on Earth he would probably be in LA!!!! Most travellers prefer flying East to West because they would be flying against the rotation of the Earth, and that means a smaller adjustment of time change.
