What happens if your flight is late? |
Travel Info ok here is what happened, i was supposed to be in a flight that was delayed for a week. but what happened was that i had to catch a connecting flight, which meant my schedule was adjusted so that i could catch two flights one after another. i told the airline that what about the conncecting flight and they are like "all we are responsible are for to get you to the destination we have to get you to no any further." i got really pissed and i ended up paying another $500 for the connecting flight again. is there something i could have done in that type of situation in case it occurs again. because it was completely the flights fault and they did not want to take responsibility for it. i was so mad.... so what would you have done other than pay the extra $500 ? Travel Tips Unfortunately if you booked your "connecting" flight separately ie it isn't a code share, the carrier of your first leg isn't really responsible for you not getting to the final destination... But I think it'd be worth a shot sending them another letter/call/e-mail complaining about the long delay (a week is a lot!!). Perhaps you can get your money back by getting free vouchers for your next flight... Others Stay home. It's obvious you don't travel much... nor go to school. From what you described it sounds like you had a connecting flight that was booked with a different airline. Unfortunately in this situation you usually don't have much recourse. I am not exactly sure how a flight could be "delayed for a week" though. In the future you should try to book connecting flights with the same airline or at least a partner/codeshare airline. This will give you some protection from missed connections due to delayed/cancelled flights. otherwise, its as you said...the first airline got you to where they promised and everything else is your responsiblity. |
