How do you go about getting a free upgrade on a flight? |

Travel Tips If all else fails.. have a panic attack on the plane lol say it's because you feel claustraphobic with all the people in the small space.. and they MIGHT upgrade you..... Others Easy. You just ask. Ask the ticket counter agent nicely. Does this work? 99% of the time, absolutely not. In most cases, on most airlines, the ticket agent is not authorized to upgrade passengers unless you have frequent flyer status and even with frequent flyer status, you will most likely need to use miles to get your upgrade. However, you might be able to ask the ticket counter agent to kindly add a code to your ticket. Why? Because the code signifies to the gate agent that you as a passenger are potentially eligible for an upgrade. It works with the right airline and you will need to know which code to use, as each airline uses different codes for different situations that are independent of other carriers. Good Luck! I fly first class all the time (free upgrades) and very rarely does anyone "dress up" for first class flying. We're usually dressed comfortably. Join the frequent flyer club, fly every week on the same airline like we all do, and get in line. But be polite and ask... it never hurts, and sometimes it works. |
