What is the best US Airline to fly economy class to Asia, seat comfort is my real concern.? |
Travel Info I'm using a limited amount of Amex points to transfer to an airline to travel to Manila so my options are limited and besides Korean Air I can't seem to keep the miles under 75000 with any other Asian airlines (I know they are normally better). Right now it looks like I am stuck with Continental going to San Francisco and Korean Air to Asia and Northwest returning... Travel Tips Find out what type aircraft (ex. Boeing 777, Airbus 340) you will be on and do some research on seating arrangements. Exit rows usually have more leg room but you risk getting a seat that does not recline. "Bulkhead" seats usually have good leg room and you don't have to worry about someone in front of you reclining their seat into your face. Does the aircraft have a seating configuration with 2 seats along the windows and 3, 4, or even 5 in the middle? If yes, request a window seat or/and the aisle seat next to the window seat - especially if you are flying with someone. I try to get the window seat so I can pile extra pillows & blankets against the wall to lean against for a bit more comfort while sleeping. After you decide, call the airline and request the seat(s). Check the day of your flight to make sure the aircraft type did not change (ex. Is your seat still at the bulkhead?). Finally, consider buying enough AMEX points to upgrade to Business Class. Others comfortable seat in ecnomy to aisia, r u kidding? If you find one, let us all know. Good luck! Continental and Northwest are both good airlines, probably the best two US airlines. british aiways, will cost more. will have layover in london |
