How often does bad turbulence occur in flights? on how many of your flights has it occured? |
Travel Info for instance I have flown about 16 times and only got bad turbulence once- people vomiting, violent jolts, descents, and side to side movements etc. Just wondering how likely this type of turbulence occurs since will be flying soon and worried if it will happen again Travel Tips I've been flying regularly for 20 years and only had bad turbulence once... never experienced people vomiting though. A small amount of turbulence is common. Others I have never been on a flight like the one you have described. My friend is a flight attendant and flies all the time. He has only been on 1 flight like that in the past 3 years. Most turblence you're going to encounter will be like going down a really bumpy dirt road with lots of potholes. You may feel like you bumping up and down or like someone is shaking your seat really hard. The worst turbulence I've ever been in was on my flight from Maui to Phoenix on Saturday night. There was 'moderate' turbulence. The most of the flight was bumpy, but not too bad. Most people slept right through it without even noticing. On most domestic services you won't find there's too much turbulence, and I think they have improved somewhat. Don't know if they're building planes better to withstand turbulence better, but my flights these days seem a lot smoother than they used to be. Occasionally while taking off you might feel a slight shudder or two, but flying on reliable airlines, it's unlikely you'll encounter anything of great worry. I am absolutely petrified of turbulence. I think the plane's going to crash! But just remember can a car randomly go flying off a road? No. So an airplane can't fall out of the sky and crash. Don't believe what the other people said. Turbulence doesn't have anything to do with the airplane or the service! Was really scared and sat next to a pilot of another plane. |
