What can I take on an airplane? |
Travel Info what can I take in my hand luggage can I take a packed lunch from home as I have not ordered one on the plane as it is my first time flying and don`t know what I can take it would be a great help if anyone can help me Travel Tips I believe you can bring your own food so long as it's not an international flight. You can't bring any type of weapons (even if they are dismantled--a lesson my uncle learned when he tried to pack his father's antique gun in his luggage, that wasn't even a carry-on). According to Midwest, these are the carry-on rules for airlines: No liquids, gels, and/or aerosols are permitted except one clear transparent resealable 1-quart (1 liter) size plastic bag, which may contain liquids, gels and/or aerosols in containers of 3.4 oz. (100 ml) capacity or less per container. The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the plastic bag must be completely closed/sealed and subjected to x-ray inspection separate from the passenger鈥檚 carry-on bag. You may have the items listed below, but you must declare them to TSA at the screening checkpoint if they are not contained in a clear transparent resealable 1-quart (1 liter) size plastic bag and/or are over 3.4 oz. (100 ml). Baby formula/milk (to include breast milk), juice, and baby food in containers if a baby or small child is traveling Medications (liquid, gels and/or aerosol) Liquids (to include juice) or gels for diabetic or other medical needs All other liquids, gels and/or aerosols may be transported in checked baggage. Liquids (including beverages), gels and/or aerosols purchased in the sterile area may be carried onboard the aircraft. Hope this helps! Have fun flying... I miss it! Also, foods I'm pretty sure you can't get through security. I'd just eat before you get through the check-points (after you've dropped off your luggage but before you go to your gate). Check with your airline's website to see the specs. As far as food is concerned, you can bring your meal, however buy your water/drink after you've already passed the security checkpoint. If you are packing any liquids/toiletries in your hand luggage, everything must fit in a ziplock bag (the sandwich size ones) & nothing over 3 oz (so if you have a large cologne bottle with just a little left, stick it in your checked luggage or it's getting confiscated). TSA rules: 3-1-1 For Carry-on toiletries (and other liquids, gels, lotions, etc.) must each be in a 3 ounce container (or smaller) ; pack these items together in a 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 such bag per passenger is allowed, and must be removed from your carry-on bag and placed in a bin to go through the screening machine. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p... |
