Dizzy while flying? |
Travel Info I've only been on a plane four times before, and the two shorter flights I was fine. But the third and fourth flights were long (more than 3 hours), and both ways I got dizzy and light-headed. I was wondering what causes this, and if there's any way to prevent this from happening again as I have to fly from Charlotte, NC to Glasgow next month. Travel Tips Please go see a doctor about this. It could just be nerves but you probably have what is called vertigo. Some people get it from traveling a long way in a car or plane. There is medicine to take for it. If you have high blood pressure be sure to talk to the doctor about that long a trip. Try walking and standing every hour or so, that can help on a long trip because you can develop blood clots while flying on a long trip and have a TIA. I've had that happen two times but I'm in my 70s. Good luck and safe passage. Others it's due to the pressure changes because of the altitude. what i usually do to help me prevent anything (i have an off whack equilibrium), is take some NyQuil about a half hour before my flight, and by time I'm in my seat, I'm sleeping. =] I guess you sipped way too many Long Island iced teas! lol |
