Travel Tips If you are in doubt, reserve one anyway because there are often not enough to accomodate all the passengers who need them, and if you do not have a seat belt you can fasten, they will not let you fly. Also visit seatguru.com to check the dimensions of the seats on the particular plane you will be travelling on, to determine if you will need to purchase an extra seat. I fly frequently and have seen passengers of size be put off of a plane because they could not fit into a single seat, and the plane was full so there was nowhere to move them to. Depending on who is seated next to you, there might be some unpleasant moments; if you are not able to fit in your assigned seat and are moving into the space allocated to another passenger, that passenger has the right to request either he or you be reseated, and not everyone is nice when they do this. Or consider purchasing a first-class ticket and getting a larger seat. Not trying to be mean, just letting you know what you might encounter. Others I don't want to seem rude, but, you might... Want to know for sure? Call the airline you're using and ask how large the seats are and exactly how long the seatbelts are. Sounds strange, but they DO have this information - I've asked before!! Once you have their measurement information it's easy enough to grab a measuring tape and see if you're going to need an extension or not. If you do, ask the attendant for it as you're boarding. |
