Can I fly from Glasgow to London without my passport?

Travel Info
I wanted to fly to London and back next weekend (13th-15th). But I just posted my passport off today to be renewed! So I won't have it back in time. Also I don't have a British drivers licence, I only have my Australian drivers licence, which still has my maiden name on it. Could I book the flight in my maiden name and use the Aussie driver's licence as ID?

Travel Tips
You must have an acceptable form of photo id- check out this site if you like but if I were you I'd look at the airline you are travelling withs website terms and conditions before you book anything because you will be refused boarding with no refund if you get it wrong- it's your own responsibility Source(s): http://p10.hostingprod.com/@spyblog.org....

Other Travel Tips
ring the airport
Internal flights within UK require some form of photo id but it would have to be current. Most common form is passport but drivers' license should suffice if it is up to date.
personal experience
You would need government issued photo ID to check in, so a drivers licence would be fine as it has a photo
