Travel Tips I always take my laptop, and although I was quite anxious the first time it went through the x-ray machine, it didn't do any damage and I've never had a problem. Don't forget that with the new handluggage regulations, it will count as your one piece. Also, you have to take it out of your luggage to pass it through the x-ray machine. Others At my work in IT we've found that there is quite a high risk of having hard disks wiped by Xray machines. Although I have known friends to take laptops on holiday with no problems. Personally, I would avoid it. Loads of people take their laptops abroad. If you are in doubt ask the operative on the scanner if it is safe for a laptop to go through. I reckon it must be as if they didnt get put through the X ray, then the mad arabs would all be using laptop cases to smuggle their weapons on board yes you can the xray harm the memory but not to that extant and i think this will not go throug the xray check . there are a lot of people going with laptop as students, businessmen, players etc, no way... business men take it on holiday all the time. dont wrong relax and have a good time You will have no problems at all, mine has done regularly for the last year and a half with no problems including SD cards etc.. Remember to take a plug adaptor for your charger. I have travelled with my lap-top many times without problems. You are only allowed to take one bag through security though, and it mustn't be more than a certain size. You will be asked to take your lap-top out of the bag and put it through the x-ray machine seperately. |
