How do I get a standby flight ticket?

I am on the worst trip of my life and need to get home as quick as the universe will let me!!!! My mother is a travel agent, but I don't know what kind of discount/whatever she will be able to give me. I want to just get a standby ticket since I am a teen. Unfortunately, I don't have the money myself to buy a regular $200+ ticket and I don't want to concern my mom anymore than I alreay have. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, stand by tickets are much more rare since 9-11. Many airlines have differing rules, though. I recommend calling the ones that fly to the airport you are trying to get to. Chances are that you will end up waiting at the airport until a seat opens up on a flight home. Best of luck!

the only way you can get a standby ticket is if you know someone who works for an airline..(they changed the rules)
No more "cheap" standby any longer, and you don't have the money to buy a ticket !!!!!!
Full price at the airport, on ANY airlines.Let your mom take care for you, since she in the travel business.
