Internet Booking System ( E-Ticket)? |
Travel Info Hi, i just wanted to ask how this method works ? When you buy a ticket online i heard they send you an email as your ticket ? Any Help ? Travel Tips Yes, you receive an email with the confirmation #. All I've ever needed at the airport though is my id and credit card that I used for purchasing the ticket. They know your confirmation # when they pull you up in the system. You can also usually go back online with the airline and re-print your e-ticket or resend it to yourself and possibly others you want to alert to your flight plans. E-tickets are totally safe though and you don't have to worry about losing a ticket this way since it's all online (and the credit card you used is what is needed to check in so really not possibility of anyone else using your ticket these days unless your id gets stolen at the same time). Good luck! Others Yes, that e-mail is sometimes your ticket...or, the e-mail will have a confirmation number that you may need to show with a piece of identification. They send an email confirmation. Some airlines send the e-ticket, some you have to go back online with the confirmation number. e-tickets don't resemble 'real' tickets at all, so it's understandable that it's confusing. You can also check in online (usually 24 hours prior to your departure time) and print your bordering pass from any computer. This saves a ton of time at the gates. Yes, you will get it within minutes of booking. Print it off and take it with you along with ID. It is your itenirary and receipt. Have one sitting in front of me for a flight next month you get an email with your CONFIRMATION number then usually the night before or the day of your travel you can check-in online using your confirmation number, then you print you boarding pass. done! your e-ticket! You're right. The site where you bought your e-ticket will send you an email containing the summary of your flight and the e-ticket. The e-ticket has the confirmation number and the e-ticket number. It also has the bar code. You just have to print the email and when you check-in, for example, with Northwest Airlines, they have kiosk that says E-Ticket Check In. You go there and then just scan the bar code in your e-ticket or there is also an instruction in the screen of the scanner. This works for me and its very convenient because you don't have to go to somewhere else to buy yur ticket. You can just sit in front of your computer at home (or in the office or somewhere else secure...), print your ticket and off you go. Hope this helps! |
