First time flying?? |
Travel Info We are planning on flying from the Twin Cities to either somewhere along the east coast [probably more southeast]. Any suggestions for airlines? What can you bring on board? Ipod? Cellphone? Camera? About how long would the flight be? Travel Tips First of all if you're flying from Minneapolis/St. Paul to the Southeastern US, the suggestions provided by another user of using either Singapore Airlines or Malaysian Airlines is useless as they don't fly domestically within the US. From Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, you can get to the East Coast, particularly the Southeast on Northwest, American, Delta, Continental, United, US Airways, Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, and AirTran. As for which of those airlines to take, it depends on what your destination is and, ultimately, where you can find the best price to take you there. Pretty much all coach airline service is the same anymore with a few differences in amenities & in-flight entertainment. As others have said, you can bring all the things you mention onboard and, as others have also mentioned, cellphones must be turned off from the time the airplane's doors are closed until you get clearance after landing so that the airplane's navigation systems aren't interfered with. The length of the flight depends, in part, on where you change planes. You're not likely to find a direct flight to any place in the Southeast with the exception of Atlanta except on Northwest (since MSP is a hub airport for them) so your total travel time would depend on where you have to connect. In general though, expect around a total of 4.5 hrs-5.5 hrs flying plus however long of a layover you may have. Hope that helps! Others It will be so much fun and the takeoff is the best part of the entire flight. Ipod, cellphone and camera is a must to bring on board but do not switch your cellphone on when you are on board and you can switch on your ipod or camera 15mins after taking off. Try malaysia airlines or singapore airlines. Both are economic and high rated airlines. It's worth to try. you're fone has to be off in the plane unless it has a plane mode feature like the blackberries or sidekicks or select nokia phones, but you can hav an iPod and a laptop if you want |
