How old must a child be to fly alone???

My son wants to visit his grandparents in Tenerife and I can't go.
He is 14.
Does anybody know???

Yes, on most airlines he can be considered an unaccompanied minor. Go on the website of the airline you are choosing. They have the details for you. Every carrier is different.

Thats old enough, I started flying alone when I was 9. I didn't have any conflict.

he cant fly alone until he is 16 years old until then he must be accompanied by a adult
I think he could go. Just he needs you at the airport i think...I would let the security know and ask them if he could keep a gun/knife/taser/pepper spray
just in case.
Yea he can just be sure that you inform him rules like not to talk to strangers. And also inform on of the flight attendants to keep an eye on him!
