Canadian flying inside us without a passport? |
Travel Info I live in Canada just across Detroit. Want to catch a plane in Detroit to fly to Savannah. Would I need a Passport or will just citizenship ID work? Travel Tips You are only required to show a government-issued photo ID to fly within the USA, and your citizenship ID is that. Don't know what Migul H is referring to - the "usps web site" is the site for the post office. There is nothing on the TSA website indicating any change in the rules.. "Dark L" is right and you should take your passport with you. There is always a chance something will change and you might have to fly directly back to Canada (thus needing a passport). Sorry - we live in difficult times. Others The rules JUST changed this morning 6/22 so you better check with the USPS web site You will need a passport since you are out-of-country. Happened to me. Got stuck in an airport for 9 hours. If you want to make 100% (they may have changed stuff around recently) call up your local governmental office which deals with passports (usually a post office will be able to inform you) and ask them. Best to be safe than sorry... like I was. XD Have fun ^_^ Peace. you dont need your passport for any domestic travel in any country! but if you do have your passport with you (as i assume you would), it is a good form of ID at the airport. I would use the passport as my ID seen that you are non american |
