Travel Info I'm looking to depart from Toronto or Detroit and arrive in Athens, Greece around the end of July and stay for about 6 weeks. Also, I need to purchase my ticket in Canadian funds. Others try kayak.com Hi loulou... Guess what...? You are not alone...! The airline industry has turned upside down in scheduling as well as costs and the frustrations are endless... I assume you have VISA / Passport by now... It would seem best you trip to NYC (LaQuadia) International for better connections to Greece from Toronto and more choices as well... I have found the more stops the flight has, the more costly the flight, not to mention the need to schedule two extra days because of time loss when, for me, a two hour flight now takes eight or more hours besides having to be at the airports two hours before flight time...grrrrr...! Your best pricing will be found by watching for the promos advertised in various online ticket selling sights. I use www.orbitz.com and also www.cheapfares.com most of the time and their service fee is five or seven dollars... I have been flying just 1000 miles from home several times a year...about eight times...and now, because of rising costs and added stops and time delays, not to mention the fear of cancellations and lost luggage, I have decided to drive the distance as it is less costly and I am in control of my life with having the same lost time regardless... I know you can't row a boat to Greece but certainly hope you manage your trip suitably and safely... Best of luck, loulou... Dr Who...
