How is US Airways?

I took a trip last fall with US Airways. I had weather delays which were not their fault, but the way they handled it was. I was rescheduled for a 6 a.m flight, which meant I had to get to the airport at 4 a.m. Their automated system for getting a new boarding pass didn't work, and the ticket clerks didn't show up for about an hour. This made for a long line to get a boarding pass and then a bottleneck going through security, and I thought I would miss my flight. I needn't have worried. My flight was delayed. I waited in line to board because they had the door open. Then they closed it again so I went to grab a sandwich for breakfast. I was in line to pay for it when they started boarding for real, so I had to put the sandwich back. When we got on, we couldn't take off because they had a smoke detector that needed to be fixed. So I had to sit there with nothing to eat but a muffin when I could have been having a decent breakfast, and of course I missed my connecting flight.....are you getting the picture?

No different then any other. However, I do Northwest Airlines, there attendants are very pleasant.
HONESTLY?

They are the worst. I used to fly America West all the time in Arizona, and they really improved their service. Until the merger...

Now, it seems the planes are always late, broken, the crew is missing...etc. In the past 6 months, I have flown over 25 trips. 20 with United Airlines have been fine, 1 with United went wrong. 4 with US Airways...every one delayed or cancelled due to stupid stuff.

ESPECIALLY avoid travelling through Charlotte if you must travel with US Airways.
you mean "US Scareways"? I only flew them once. They were ok but not my first choice for an airline.
everyone has their own opinions about each airline depending on their experience.... this does not mean the whole airline is just as great/horrible. make your own opinion!
This is one of the airlines I KEEP AWAY FROM.
Friends of mine flew from Denver to Miami to visit last May. They were booked on US Air and missed their connection in Phoenix because the flight was late leaving Denver. They were supposed to go on a 7-day Caribbean cruise and their luggage never caught up with them. I ha to take them to Wal-Mart to get clothes and get their prescriptions refilled at Walgreen's. Their luggage arrived after the ship sailed and sat at my house for 5 days. US Air did not make any attempt to reimburse them for the additional expenses or inconvenience, nor did they accept any responsibility for the first leg of the flight being late. I don't think the size or type of aircraft had anything to do with it. After dealing with US Air customer service, I personally will never be one of their customers.
