What cause an airplane turbulance?

Travel Info
I just happend to be in an aeroplance last week. And the plane experianced sever turbulance. I was kind of very scared that moment.

Travel Tips
Basically, a gusty wind up in the air blowing left to right; opposite or same direction of your flight. Sometimes when a plane flies through hot area (air goes up) to a cooler area (air goes down), or vice versa, you'll feel the turbulace. This is because you are flying through uneven pressure. Other Travel Tips
Any wind that affects how the wing cuts thru the air. Updrafts, downdrafts, and crosswinds.
