What causes air sickness?

Travel Info
So the ride is a bit bumpy, but why does a person's body sometimes react by vomiting?

Travel Tips
It is a specific form of motion sickness, and is considered a normal response in healthy individuals. Airsickness occurs when the central nervous system receives conflicting messages from the body (including the inner ear, eyes and muscles) affecting balance and equilibrium.

Fatigue, stress, and anxiety, are some factors that can increase susceptibility to motion sickness of any type.
The use of alcohol, drugs, and medications may also contribute to airsickness.
Additionally, airsickness is more common in women (especially during pregnancy), young children, and individuals prone to other types of motion sickness.
Although airsickness is uncommon among experienced pilots, it does occur with some frequency in student pilots

A good way to beat it is to try to get a seat over the wings where the ride is smoothest
Others
the weight of your body and the height in the air/sky is the usual affect of sickness; but if you take medicine or try sleeping, its less likely to bother you much.
The disturbances in the semicircular canals in the inner ear can cause nausea. These are used by the body to sense orientation, and the body may enter a panic mode if the sense comes out to an irrational value.
Mostly tension
