Sure, some days you may find a better deal than others, but airlines usually sell tickets up to a year and half into the future. That means that the sale fares are already loaded into the system. You can get a cheaper fare by buying it further out. Each flight has certain fare classes. You can get a cheap one way for as little as $40 or as expensive as $400. And each fare class has a certain amount of seats available. So the further you buy out in advance, the better chances you have of getting that cheap fare class. Finally, sometimes you may buy your ticket within a week of your travel date. If you get an awesome deal on it, that's a good indication that the flight is probably empty. Tip: There are two things you never talk about on an airplane. 1.) Crashes, bombs, terrorism..etc... 2.) How much you paid for your ticket.
