Any tips on being a steward?

Travel Info
Can you give some tips like
- How old you shoul be
- college and diplomas
- weight, height, appearance
- experiences
- and in how much they pay stewards

"I didn't always think I could be like some kind of lawyer or a doctor. I like traveling, also like to be a steward, which is the only big choice for me, I don't care if I'm in a hijack or in a plane crash, I've always trusted my self, and prepared in evry thing, always trusted in God!"

Right now I'm 16/ live in ontario, Canada/ probably apply in air Canada.

Travel Tips
I can answer some of your points as I am also considering a career with Air Canada just as a pilot. First off, having a post-secondary education will help you during job selection. Average height and weight is adequate, over-weight could be seen as a problem in terms of safety (effectiveness during evacuation). You should be well groomed and taken care of. Having experiences as a waiter or something to do with customer service will further prove to your employer that you will satisfy customer needs in a professional fashion. I am not sure about the pay for stewards. Be ready for a lot of traveling and GOOD LUCK! Maybe I will be a pilot of your flight someday!!! *Here is the link for info for Air Canada Flight Attendants.....http://www.aircanada.com/en/about/career... Source(s): Experienced traveler
Other Travel Tips
You would need to be at least 18, possibly 21... not sure on AirCanada's rules...

A college degree, in any field is a very big positive... A high school diploma is an absolute must... they wont hire an idiot...

Airlines will require that your weight be "proportional" to your height... meaning basically, if you are fat, you cant be a Flight Attendant... You should look clean cut and professional

While past experience as a flight attendant would be a plus, it is not a requirement...

I am not sure on pay for flight attendants... If I had to guess, it would be in the 20,000-30,000 (USD) range in your first year and it would improve alot as you gain seniority in the company...
