Do flight attendents get any basic flight training for 'just-in-case' scenarios? |
Travel Info Do flight attendents get any basic flight training for 'just-in-case' scenarios? Travel Tips I wish i could tell you how much training there is for things like this....this is about 75-90percent of actual training...We have a manual filled with what to do for every type of thing that comes up!! In my situation for instance, we were trained in evacuating the plane, sliding down the slide, getting others off the plane, forcing them to slide down the slide :), what to do if we crash on water, how to use the liferaft, items to take in an emergency, how to survive at sea while waiting for help, how to put someone on the raft if they aren't in it... hand-to-hand combat....yes that's right!! we can fight you!!... :) we're trained to recognize problems with the plane and what to do...what to do if the pilot(s) is/are incapacitated, fire fighting, delivering babies, CPR/First Aid, using an AED...everything! I could go on forever... don't worry, we are trained, prepared, tested, and get recurrent training on these issues! Source(s): current FA Other Travel Tips "I just wanted to tell you good luck. We're all counting on you." /over Macho Grande? yes we do for every type of emergency. it's during safety week. Yes they do. They are trained to handle pretty much anything that could happen. |
