Where can I book a flight on a corporate airplane that has open seats? |
Travel Info I've heard of a company that lists and sells tickets from private airplanes that have extra space. Do you know of this company and where I could find them? Also would you know what the costs are? Travel Tips When an corporate aircraft is chartered for a one-way flight, the return flight is known as as the "empty leg" because the plane flies empty of passengers. The company paying for the charter has already paid for both legs, so they list the empty leg with one or more brokers to recoup some of their costs. Because the empty leg has already been paid, it's usually offered for a significant discount. Tpically you have to charter the whole aircraft. So it's the same price regardless of the number of passengers. And that's going to be thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars. But there are some brokers that will try to find you a seat on a previously chartered flight, such as: http://www.chartermatrix.com/charter-emp... http://www.jetcharterpool.com/ I'm sure there are others. Search for for the keywords: empty leg seats I can't find any information about costs. It's not like an airline, whose fares must be published. These are private transactions between the chartering company and the traveler(s). I image it's usually at least as much as a first-class ticket airline ticket bought on short notice. |
