Question for people with Airport/Airline knowledge?

Travel Info
This is an example: At FLL airport some Airlines will arrive in one Terminal/gate and then depart with the same plane in another Gate. What is done to move the plane? I have never seen a plane being transported between gate to gate

Travel Tips
Well in FLL case there is only one terminal which can handle International arrivals so after a airplane goes to the gate at the international terminal most airlines move their plane out of that terminal and into there normal gates for departure, most of the time a tractor (somewhat the same thing used to push the plane back) will be used. But sometimes pilots will taxi the plane and even qualified mechanics.
At airports which only have one international terminal this is done often for the domestic airlines since they rather depart from their own gates.
Others
They don't move the plane. It is a different plane, that just looks like the one you got off.
I used to work at Orlando International for United Airlines.

Typically, in this situation, it's NOT the same plane. It's the same TYPE of plane (ie, 737, MD80, A320, etc). But it's not the same exact plane.

It doesn't make sense to move a plane from one gate to another because this actually costs the airline a lot more money than you'd ever believe.

If a plane MUST be moved, a tractor (the same kind that pushes the plane out away from the gate) would be hooked up to it. The tractor has enough power to push or pull the plane, and that's how it's towed if needed.

Usually, though, especially at FLL, a flight is designated to continue on a second aircraft, and that's the most typical reason a flight "comes in to one gate, and departs from another."
If they used the same plane, you wouldn't have to change gates would you?
what? no. that never happens. some people take a plane to an airport, then get on to another plane to go to their final destination, because there airport doesnt go directly to the area where the person wants to go. this is called a "connection"

usually planes land in one gate, then stay there until its boarded with passengers and then it flys away
my mom works for the airlines
either the pilots will drive it over or the maintanance crew
