Can a boxed coo coo clock be hand-carried thru airport security?

The coo coo clock we bought near Frankfurt, Germany is in a box and weighs about 4 pounds. We plan to hand-carry it and board an airplane at Frankfurt to go back to USA. On way home to California, we transfer at O'hare, Chicago, possibly another security check there. Can we get into problems?
