"Indian Airlines Flight 814 (abbreviated IC-814) was a flight that flew from Kathmandu, Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport to Delhi, India's Indira Gandhi International Airport. It was hijacked on Christmas Eve, Friday, December 24, 1999, shortly after the aircraft entered Indian airspace at about 5:30 p.m. Indian Standard Time by five Pakistani nationals. The hijackers stabbed to death 25-year-old Rupin Katyal. Ultimately, the plane landed in Afghanistan, where the hijackers agreed to release their hostages in exchange for the release of three Muslim extremists."

This happened when I was growin up in India...I was 11 years old at that time. It scared the living daylighs outta me during that period when the hostages were held

I saw a video about it last night and later had a nightmare about it when I went to sleep

I'm scared for India even though I'm in the US...been here for 5 yrs now

It's good to have people who cares...

Well, I think that the recent growing security measures will somehow prevent many of those attacks, but sometimes there are security breaches.

Try not to think about that, and live happy. This thing happens in every country. You are too young to be living so fearful already.

Enjoy your youth, and forget about that. Those things will happen, and the terrorists do those things precisely to bring terror and fear to people, specially to young ones. Don't give them the pleasure of bringing terror to your live. You just don't give up life.

If you have the pleasure of traveling by plane, don't think about terrorists, nor kidnappers, nor anything like that. I have traveled a lot, and thankfully nothing bad has happened yet.

My dear fellow....There are good and bad people in this world and they will keep on doing their jobs. Hijacking too might happen again as it is considered an immediate way of attracting the attention of the World Media towards your cause..

Was it ever thought that some one can destroy the Twin Towers in NYC ?? But this has happenend.

Remember, since 1999, the airport security has been beefed up DRAMATICALLY! If anyone tries to bring a weapon of ANY sort on board the plane, they will be arrested. Also, now the cockpit door is locked and reinforced so that nobody can enter. Don't worry.
