I'm going on a longg plane ride and...? |
Travel Info my ears always get the WORST pressure in them and im supposed to be arriving there in the morning, so i cant go all day with pressure in my ears.. [when ever that happens i get headaces and get really grumpy] any ideas how to prevent that? thnx <3 Travel Tips I fly enough to know a few ways to prevent it. When your taking off and Landing chew gum, i figured out the best way to prevent it is really chew it like the most un-lady like way. Another way is to force yourself to yawn after your ears pop,(thats what i call it when the pressure gets bad). The other way I know is drinking big gulps of water/soda/juice ect. after your ears pop. Others You can't. Just put your thumb in your mouth and blow. Check an ear doctor for blockage before you go for just in case. If you put something in your mouth and suck on it as the plane is going up and down, you should be able to prevent it from happening. You can also try the gum/eating trick as the motion of your chewing should prevent the pressure from building up in your ears. Good luck and happy traveling! The sell ear plugs that you can wear while you are on the plane. You can get them at any drug store. They are called ear planes. My grandmother couldn't fly before because of the pressure that built up in her ears. Now that she found out about these ear plugs, she flys all the time now. Hope this helps. I am flying today (7/6/07) to england from California and I have the same problem I nee dhelp 2 . All I can suggest is gum. chew gum, drink fluids and open and close your mouth. try taking something for your headache before it happens to prevent any pain. Benadryl (it may make you drowsy), EarPlanes - drugstore - (ear plugs for takeoff & landings), gum, hold your nose & gently blow (mouth closed) to help your ears "pop". |
