How do I calm a 6 year old on his first plane ride? |
Travel Info On Friday me and my family are flying to Disneyland. I'm scared my little brother will get scared. Travel Tips The most important thing is 'ears'. Having something to chew to make sure he doesn't get sore ears is the first thing. Depending on which airline you are flying and how long your flight is, some airlines provide entertainment packs for kids. Others have electronic games that kids can use. Failing that, take your own distractions. If your flight is an hour, then the time needed to distract is minimal. But if its a long flight, more planning is required. Little people also need good sight lines with the entertainment screens so maybe ensuring you have good seats is another opton. Ps if you dont have enough money for anything just let him use yours i was a 6 years old once If you're not careful, he'll pick up your fears. Better to just find something to occupy him, and keep him busy. He'll treat this as nothing more than a ride on a bus. Try something he really likes - new coloring book, a video game, a new toy, etc. Just be sure it's something that you can get through the security screening. That means no liquids, and no metal. And make it something that is cheap enough that if the security people decide to take it, you're not out a big chunk of money. Don't worry about him, he'll be fine. However, if you really have fears, talk with your parents. A doctor might suggest a dose of child cough or cold meds, but check with dr. first. I take an antihistamine an hour before boarding and sleep. DON'T do anything on your own, talk to your parents. Buy him some travel sized toys and give them to him just before boarding. |
