Has anyone flown on Turkish Airlines and can answer this for me? |
Travel Info The Turkish Airline website says that I can have two pieces of luggage and that if I want to take anything other than a handbag I have to buy a seat. Does this mean that I cannot take a handbag and a traditional roller carryon? Travel Tips Have a great time in Istanbul. Here is your most detailed info about Turkish Airlines and Baggage Allowance: Turkish Airlines Baggage Allowance (This is for your Check-In Baggage, NOT for the Cabin) - 2 pieces of baggage are considered as free baggage allowance. This allowance depends on your type of ticket: For C/Cl passengers (Business and First Class); - Each piece must weigh max. 32 kg (70 lbs.) - Sum of the 3 dimensions of each piece must not exceed 158 cm (62 in). For Y/Cl passengers (Economy) - Each piece must weigh max. 32 kg (70 lbs.) - Sum of the 3 dimensions of two pieces must not exceed 273cm (107 in). Turkish Airlines Carry-On Allowance (This is for your Carry-On items in the Cabin) For C/Cl passengers (Business and First Class); - 2 pieces both pieces must weigh max. 8 kg (18 lbs.) - The 3 dimensions of both pieces must not exceed 8in x 16in x 24in. For Y/Cl passengers (Economy) - 1 piece must weigh max. 8kg (18 lbs) - The 3 dimensions of that piece must not exceed 8in x 16in x 24in. Others I flew Turkish Airlines last August from Istanbul to Antalya, and I carried a small purse and a standard backpack, without any problems. But, I really think it will depend on how full the flight is, and how big your roller carry-on is. Your best bet would be to call THY and ask them directly (get the dimensions of the roller carry-on to see if it meets their overhead requirements). |
