French Help- Future Tenses?

Travel Info
I am having trouble figuring out the difference between using the regular future (eg: Je parlerai) vs. future with present tense of aller (Je vais parler). What are the literal translations for these two phrases and when is one more appropriate to use than the other? Merci.

Travel Tips
The conjugation using the present tense of "aller" is called "futur proche" in french, which stands for "close future tense". Close future tense is a tense that refers to a time shortly after the moment of utterance. The action is set to happen soon, the action is imminent.
It goes about the same for the past tense: there is a conjugation in french called "pass茅 proche". The term talks by itself. The action described by the verb is very recent.
An example: je viens de lire le journal / I just read the paper; j'ai lu le journal (la semaine pass茅e)/ I have read the paper (last week); je vais lire le journal (imm茅diatement) / I'm going to read the paper (right away); je lirai le journal (demain) / I will read the paper (tomorrow).

I hope that helped.
