Is there a bus that I could take from Gare d'Austerlitz to Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport? |
Travel Info I'll be arriving at the Gare D'Austerlitz from Madrid (via TALGO train), and I have to catch a flight for Chicago O'Hare that same day. I do not want to spend $50 for taxifare from Paris to CDG Airport. Travel Tips Just a few minor corrections if that's ok: There are buses from Gare d'Austerlitz to CDG Airport but you'll need tranfers and it won't be convenient. The RER trip will cost slightly under 8 euros. You do not need to buy a separate metro ticket. Just buy your RER ticket and that's it. To take the RER just use "RER" line C from Gare d'Austerlitz (Direction: Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel); Get off the train at Station "St-Michel Notre Dame". Change lines. Look for sign to Direction "Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV". Get on that train all the way to CDG Airport. Air France Buses are like luxury coaches (not public transportation buses) so I say they're a much better way to go through Paris and you'll get to see more of Paris than if you're traveling underground (Metro/RER). They are only available from some train stations. You'll have to go to Gare de Lyon (very close to Gare d'Austerlitz) or Gare Montparnasse. (For a quick view of Paris, you could also make your way to the Champs Elysees area and catch one from Place de L'Etoile, near the Arc de Triomphe, or at Porte Maillot. Cost 12 euros). If you don't carry too much luggage, you can walk 5 minutes to Gare de Lyon (just across the river) from Gare d'Austerlitz and catch the Air France bus there.
