Travel Info Do tourists suffer from crime in paris? are there any statistics? Travel Tips I had my pocket picked by Gypsy kids (girls about 10 - 12 years old) on the metro. I plan for stuff like that so it was no big deal. The small amount of cash I lost was worth it for the great story I have. Thanks to the pickpockets I changed my plan of what I was doing that day which led to me finding a book bindery store that amazed me. Everytime I look at the gorgeous illuminated manuscript page piece of art on my wall that I bought at that store I thank those rotten brats. Having a sheet of paper tucked away in my suitcase with all my banking and credit cards numbers and the phone numbers for the companies made it very easy to deal with the theft. I usually have it on the same paper as a xerox of my passport. I travel alone (39 year old woman) and I never felt threatened in the least if you are concerned about serious crime. Heading back to Paris in 22 days! |
