Where is the best place to live/work in Sicily?

I'm seriously considering moving to Sicily or possibly Italy. Where would be the best place to live affordably and make a decent living?

I think it is kind of though there, there are not many jobs and people travel north to find more jobs. I would suggest trying up north near more industriaized cities such as milan, turin, florence etc.
