Catalonians were very powerful back then in XIV Century.
Even nowadays, the Catalonian region is one of the most powerful (economically speaking) of Spain.
My family is from Catalonia, I was born in Argentina though.
Catalonian and Basques both want to be independent nations, not part of Spain.
