Renting a car in Spain?

Friends and I are looking to rent a car in Barcelona, Spain and drive across the border to Provence, France and meet up with family. Afterwards, we plan to drop the car off in France and take the Eurorail to Belgium and Amsterdam. Are there any issues we need to concern ourselves if we decide to do this?

hertz rental have several offices in Barcelona and can arrange pick up from across the border. Their main office is in Las Ramblas, just off Plaza Independencia.
