Aruba Hotel Dilemma?

Travel Info
Hello my husband and I are planning a trip to Aruba this August. We picked it because it is outside the hurricane belt in the ABC islands. I do not know much about Aruba but have booked two hotels and am wondering which is the best fit for us. We like upscale and mellow hotels. We are extensive travelers who have stayed at some of the finest hotels, but we also love hotels with local charm. We love Small Inns and B&B's as well at the Ritz. The first hotel I booked is the Westin Aruba. We are platinum members of Starwood hotels, so we often get upgraded and treated well at their properties. But I am worried this place is too spring break an won鈥檛 have the peace and quiet we are looking for. But it does look nice. I also booked the Golden Tulip Resort Bucuti -Tara Suites & Spa. This is a smaller European style boutique hotel with great reviews on trip advisor. The westin is on Palm beach and the Bucuti is on Eagle beach. Any advice on which to pick would be great. Thanks!

It gets its share of 'Canes ! But I would plead with you to avoid it like the plague until they produce the body of that poor young girl from Alabama murdered by their citizens and until these killers are made to pay! I would send their consulate a message saying why (I'm) boycotting their Island.
I realize some people dont care, but this country is getting away with hiding murderers and I find that Unconsionable!!!
I hope you and others will spend your money in a better place.

I love boutique type hotels. I would go with Golden Tulip Resort Bucuti. You can always stay at a Westin.
The Golden Tulip is "on one of the top Beaches" in the Caribbean, as rated by Dream Beaches of the world.
It looks like a great place to relax with peace and quiet.
The candid travelers photos are great.

Try it and enjoy!

What Stella said...

FYI, Eagle Beach is less crowded than Palm Beach. It's just that there are more high rise hotels on Palm Beach.

If you love the local hang out stuff make sure you take a day trip down to Baby's beach, stay for lunch and an ice cold Polar Beer at Coco Beach Grill with your toes in the sand!

For a wonderfully romantic dinner on the beach watching the sunset, go to The Flying Fishbone in Savanetta. Book early though they have limited seating and it can be hard to get reservations.

You're gonna love it!

P.S. don't forget to take your Deet with you where ever you go on the island...getting caught at dusk being eaten up by rouge mosquitos can be rough, especially for those like me-I attract them.
used to live there
You sound like your a picky traveler, just go have fun, life is too short to worry so much
