Travel Info What is the best island destination in the caribbean? Travel Tips It depends on what you're in to. If you're a big time diver/snorkeler, you might be more interested in Cozumel than someplace else. Overall though, I'd say the U.S. Virgin Islands. However, I was not overly impressed with St. Thomas, as a previous respondent was, due to the fact that I found the island to be a bit dirty and commercialized. The shopping in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas is excellent though so they get points for that. What strikes me as categorizing it as the best Caribbean island destination is its close proximity to Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and many other islands affording the traveler an opportunity to venture out and see a wider array of Caribbean locale. Source(s): Caribbean traveler 12 years running. Other Travel Tips St. Thomas - it is still US, but in the Caribbien. They drive on the left side, but in regular Car. It is quite funny... but anyhow: I was in Barbados, Aruba, Puerto Rico but I enjoyed St. Thomas the most. Beautiful beaches, excellent Hotels, nice dining... regards from Hungary: Sandor We love St Kitt. Not as commercialized as the others. Nice beaches & friendly people. |
