Travel Info Is a passport or birth certificate needed to travel to Aruba? Travel Tips Currently, you do not need a passport to go to Aruba. You only need a document that proves your identification such as a driver license, and something that proves your citizenship such as a birth certificate. A social security card is NOT acceptable for proof of citizenship. All this said, it is much easier to travel with a passport for emigration and immigration from both the US and Aruba. One benefit of visiting Aruba: US customs are done in Aruba at the airport, so when you arrive back in the US, you just claim your bags and go. No long lines at the destination. You can apply for a passport at many post offices around the country. Fill out the application online at: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/d... Bring the printed application to the passport office, but remember NOT to sign it until they ask you to at the office. Other Travel Tips A passport in definately needed to travel to Aruba. You can only travel inside the US or its territories without a passport. For example you can visit St. Croix, USVI or Puerto Rico with a US license, but any other non US country requires a passport.
