Aruba is in the Caribbean and is in commonwealth with the Netherlands.Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, the AbC islands, are Dutch held islands off the northern coast of Venezuela. Great diving, I've been to each island twice!
Depending on definitions, Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago have territory in one or both of North and South America.

It is more commonly refered to an North America even though it is very close to Venezuela.

It is part of the Caribbean, located in the Caribbean Sea.

Theoretically, people will argue it belongs to one or more geographical area, but the fact that it is located off Venezuela is really not that important to what it is a "part of".

And to get even more technically, it is part of the Lesser Antilles, which along with the Greater Antilles and the Bahamas form the West Indies.

It might be more proper to refer to it as an island of the Antilles, or the West Indies.
