It's a great place to live and a great place to hang out...if you know where to go. As with any place, there are bad areas in Buckhead. For the majority, it's an upperclass town. Be prepared to spend money whether you plan on residing there or going out on the town.

It is a great place to go if you want to get robbed. I like East Atlanta Village, Little 5 Points or Virgina Highlands.
I feel very safe when I am in Buckhead. I like the choices of restaurants they have to offer and it has a variety of entertainment to offer including great shopping.
Buckhead is a "has been" area as far as nightlife goes, although it is still nice for dining and shopping. The "hip hop" gang has taken over at night, with fights and shootings fairly common.

The "in" spots to go in Atlanta now are mid town, east atlanta, the highlands.
