Why do so many people consider atlanta to be "ghetto"? From what I see it is a beautiful city. Is it that bad? |
Travel Info Just curious! I have been reading a lot of questions and answers here to learn more about the area and that one is very common. Travel Tips Jackie you're an idiot. Big time. I have been to Atlanta and there are some really cool parts. I stayed at the Ga Tech conference and hotel center in the heart of Ga Tech Campus. Now, i have been to the underground in the summer and it is bad. Lot of homeless peeps trying to clean my already clean shoes for a dollar. The GHETTO, lets call it what it is for Jackie the Anti-Semi, is BAD! I got lost one night driving around and thank god for tinted windows and locked doors, i ran 3 red lights in horror of getting shot. I thought, whats the worst that can happen, i get pulled over by a COP!!??!? haha. Others Even I'M afraid of Atlanta. It is pretty and pretty dangerous with a high street crime rate. Atlanta has lots of crime and bad sections. I went to Underground and I did not feel safe. I had people getting in my face and asking for money...calling me names when I did not give it to them. I hate Atlanta...I'm from there and will never go back! I have been to Atlanta years ago. I thought it was a very nice place. I think all cities have a ghetto section. I live in a beautiful city also and we have a few bad sections, but I never see them because I don't go to that part of town. I remember "The Underground" in Atlanta, Ga. I guess they still have it. It was something I heard about before I got there. I hate how people use "ghetto" to describe anything that's not high class. The real ghetto: A quarantined section of the city where the Jews were forced to live during World War II, Germany. Atlanta is not "ghetto". It's a metropolitan city, like Los Angeles. I think people just don't know what ghetto is.... who gives a **** what the actual definition of ghetto means .......in todays world ghetto is going to be a place of extreme poverty and high crime.alot of ppl would say that about atlanta because there are alot of black ppl that live there and that is what todays society relates with GHETTO .although it is stereotypical---- it is true.when ppl visit atlanta they normally only see the metropolitan area(where there is high crime) and not the beautiful areas.so ofcourse atlantas reputation is going to be at stake only because ppl are uneducated about a place they decide to visit.as stated in another answer....you have "ghetto" in every town,state etc.or should i say you have crime everywhere |
